During my trip to Berlin to meet with Francis Kéré, the brilliant architect for the Las Vegas Museum of Art, I had the opportunity to visit the Frans Hals exhibition again, this time at the Gemäldegalerie. During this visit, I had great interest in his extraordinary use of color, filled with vibrant and rich detail. Despite these works being over 400 years old, Hals’ paintings are spectacles that are just as lively now as then. Enjoy the details!

I can always depend on the Palazzo Strozzi to consistently present exceptional work, and the recent curation of Helen Frankenthaler’s work entitled “Painting Without Rules” is certainly that.

The exhibition is a time capsule of the incredible creativity in the American Art world, including the work of 20th century titans such as Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko and David Smith.

I am pleased to share the imminent launch of The Las Vegas Book, a work of art directed and written by my dear friend and historian Joris Dekkers. This limited first edition coffee table book takes you from the origins of the Las Vegas Strip all the way to the creation of Vegas' most celebrated resorts such as The Mirage, The Bellagio and The Wynn and Encore Las Vegas: places that are very near and dear to me, and that shaped my 40-year career with Steve and Elaine Wynn. For the past 2 years, I have consulted on behalf of this extraordinary project which also portrays my father Parry Thomas and iconic figures behind the success of Las Vegas, such as Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley and Siegfried and Roy. Rare photos of vintage resorts such as The Flamingo, The Desert Inn, The International, and so much more are displayed in this love letter to Las Vegas' history.

I was fortunate to catch the final day of Homo Faber 2024: The Journey of Life. The imagination, creativity and extraordinary craftsmanship was a true feast for the eyes with a variety of material texture, form, silhouette and color.⁠

Although I did my best to photograph, the stenography of the exhibition made that task rather difficult - admittedly, Arthur has always been the better photographer anyway.⁠

I had the great honor of viewing a proposal led by

I had the great honor of viewing a proposal led by Curator and dear friend Martin Chaplin before the Decorative Arts Council for the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco. The discussion centered around these magnificent panels by Grinling Gibbons, who is commonly regarded as the greatest carver in British history.

If acquired, these sculptural works will be added to the British gallery at the California Palace of the @legionofhonor, which would make it the third Gibbons piece in the US, and the first to grace the West Coast.
