Giacometti lost, and somehow found

In Art and history, Travels and events by Roger Thomas

Arthur and I visited the Institute Giacometti one lovely Saturday morning in Paris just before the shutdowns across Europe. The exhibition was focused on his lost works: Creations documented in sketches or photographs that no longer exist physically.

I have spent a lifetime exploring and studying Giacometti’s art, traveling far and wide to see his paintings and sculptures. So it was a special pleasure to discover those I will never find no matter how much farther I travel. An appropriate experience to contemplate for this moment in the world.
