It’s that time of year again – when the sage editors at Elle Decor add to their “A-list” of architects and designers. This month they are recognizing four new designers on their compendium of “the best of the best” singled out for “inspiration, creativity, connoisseurship and a fresh vision of the way we want to live today.”
The list includes many of my own personal “most admired,” like Fisher Weisman, pictured below in their San Francisco North Beach studio. Above them you can see a chandelier I couldn’t resist buying for a certain project you may have heard I’m working on in southern China. (Hint: $3.6+ billion budget, opening early next year.) The talented pair design for private clients, publish sumptuous books and not long ago opened their first online retail outlet, Casa Acanto.
Other A-listers, many of whom I’m honored to also call friends, include Vicente Wolf, Jamie Drake, Steven Volpe, Madeline Stuart, Suzanne Kasler, and Jay Jeffers. The Elle Decor team celebrates the list this week with an event in New York. I’d like to raise a toast from afar to this amazing group!
