The Cult of the Machine exhibition at the de Young Museum in San Francisco is worth a trip.
The show focuses on American Art between the great wars as the beginning of so much that we know as modern… minimalism, photorealism, streamlining. And it is so very American.
Art in Europe at the beginning of the 20th century certainly pointed the way. But American Precisionists, inspired by our burgeoning Industry, made that legacy distinctly their own.
The CORD convertible alone is worth the visit.
Enjoy!
