DIFFA mission statement

In support of DIFFA

In RTC News by Roger Thomas

I’m so proud to report that we are partnering with our great friends at Maya Romanoff in support of the rather brilliant “Specify with Care” initiative organized by DIFFA, the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS.
DIFFA has a noble history. On April 25, 1984, a group of concerned individuals within the design community gathered in New York City, drawn together by a compelling need to help those in their industry who had contracted a strange new illness. “When we first started, we couldn’t even talk about it,” says Lynn Berman, the woman who gave DIFFA its name. “We really wanted to change things, to make a difference.”
With fundraising efforts bolstered by strategic partnerships and unique events showcasing innovation and creativity, DIFFA has mobilized the immense resources of the design communities and granted over $40 million to hundreds of AIDS service organizations nationwide.
Under the Specify with Care program, designated collections donate a percentage of sales to the Foundation. Support from these affiliates ensures that DIFFA has the resources to help HIV/AIDS organizations year-round and respond quickly to the needs of the organizations it supports.
I’m very proud of our designs for Maya Romanoff, especially so now that this great cause will benefit from our collaboration.
